Miguel Mateus

Miguel Mateus, is Head of Business Development at ENGIE for renewable hydrogen, synthetic fuels and desalination in Europe and for storage and thermal in South Europe and Germany.

With an engineering background, Miguel has an extensive experience in the international energy market. He has consistently worked with large-scale infrastructure activities, either in business development, construction, operations, or general management.

Starting his career in Belgium in consultancy, Miguel joined ENGIE in 2007 to manage and develop many structuring projects for the Group.  For Tractebel first, (ENGIE’s engineering subsidiary) he was committed to developing new nuclear and gas power plants. In LATAM next, he pulled to success giga-scale assets under construction. In Australia, Miguel has mostly put his managerial competencies to good use by shifting the thermal operations teams’ skills towards renewables development and construction. He was also Project Director for a large wind farm construction.

He also strives to build up a work environment that enhances people’s growth and shapes the future through the creation of large-scale and sustainable infrastructure.
